A colonoscopy is a procedure to look at the inside of your large bowel (colon) using a flexible endoscope (camera).

A gastroscopy is a procedure to look at the inside of your oesophagus (gullet, stomach and duodenum (beginning of your small bowel) using a flexible endoscope.

Capsule Endoscopy

Capsule endoscopy is an effective procedure to visualize the small bowel. The procedure involves the patient swallowing the capsule, which travels naturally through the digestive tract and is then excreted. 

ERCP: Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatograpy

An ERCP is a procedure to look for any problems in your bile duct or pancreatic duct (tubes that carry bile from te liver and digestive juices from the pancreas to the intestine).

EUS: Endoscopic Ultrasound

An endoscopic ultrasound is a procedure to look at the wall of your oesophagus (gullet), stomach and duodenum using a flexible telescope. Sometimes an endoscopic ultrasound is performed to check problems in your pancreas or to see if you have gallstones that have moved into your bile ducts.

FTRD is a procedure used to remove small tumours or other growths from the gastrointestinal tract.
